OUR COUNSELLORS

We left no stone unturned when it came to assembling the dream-mama-team. Each of our MN support team are registered counsellors but they all individually have incredible life stories, varied mothering experiences, along with a wealth of other qualifications and areas they specialise in.

You get to choose your own adventure here at Mother Nurtured, time with us is time for you so it’s important that it happens the way you’d love it to. Whether you’re curled up on the couch with a cup of tea during your session or hiding in the car with your sixth coffee today (we’ve all done it), we’re honoured to share it all and hold that space for you to be heard.

Hi, I’m Louise Moseley. I am so excited to introduce myself to you.

I have been blessed with three amazing boys who are 15, 13 and 7 years old. Mothering my sons is the most rewarding, yet challenging role I have ever undertaken. Each day presents with new experiences, emotions, achievements, highs, lows, tears, tantrums and cuddles to soften the impact of our days.

I have a genuine interest in the stories of those around me. I find it natural to listen to others and believe that a smile and kindness can change the way a person is feeling. As a result of this I decided to study counselling. This journey has instilled so much growth within me. My main goal from this is to gently guide others who may need a little sprinkle of sunshine or warmth along their way.

My counselling style is a person-centered approach. I believe that the individual is the expert of their own lives, stories and experiences. Therefore, I will actively listen and work alongside you to discover and develop skills and self-awareness to assist in navigating your chosen way.

The past years have presented new elements of stress and changes in our lives. One thing that has remained clear and unchanged is the role of a mother. She is a wife, friend, domestic goddess, mediator, teacher and student rolled into one. Never forgetting a mother is a unique person who sometimes needs to be reminded that they are doing a fantastic job and that it’s ok to seek support.

Let me introduce myself – I’m Artemis and I have a Bachelor in Social Science, and a Diploma in Counselling.  My background education, and lived experiences have shaped my awareness and understanding, contributing to varied life skills.

I experienced the stillbirth of our firstborn son at full term, and this was an extremely trying period in my life, and I felt very isolated by friends and family that didn’t know what to say or do.  Three months later I became pregnant again, and once our daughter was born, I set out to be the ‘perfect stay at home parent’.  I soon realised that there is no perfect parent.  We all set out to do our very best, but parenthood can be absolutely exhausting.  You may feel frustrated, experience external/internal pressures, anxiety, emotional collapse and a real sense of feeling overwhelmed.

I understand how important it is to connect with someone who has a genuine care and understanding, and those closest are not always emotionally available to us.  It is my aim to provide a calm, safe space to allow you to share and work through emotions, no matter how big or small, and to find inner peace for a happier and healthier you.

We can work through the difficulties, and also celebrate the joys of raising little humans.

“I love to help other mothers self heal their internal wounds, disentangle their mind to be free from unnecessary worry and tension, as well as empowering them with the tools to navigate life with confidence and purpose.”

As a mother of two girls (ages 10 and 12), and with nearly 10 years experience as a committed yoga practitioner and teacher, Naomi draws on everything she has learned on her own journey of healing and navigating the challenges of motherhood to bring deep understanding and empathetic presence into her counselling.

Naomi uses a person centred approach in her sessions, as well as integrating ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), CBT (Cognitive behavioural therapy), somatic experiencing, yogic breath work, mindfulness and meditation techniques.

It is through her work with survivors of domestic violence and sexual abuse teaching trauma sensitive yoga that Naomi felt called to counselling as another modality that she could share to help women break free from their past and live more fully in the present.

Naomi believes that we all have a purpose in life, but acknowledges that sometimes, particularly as Mothers, we can lose our way a little and become stuck or lost – that’s when support and guidance can help. Her passion is to help women create more internal space so that they can get to know themselves better and see clearly where they need to go, moving in a direction that their heart calls.

Her areas of interest include anxiety, depression, trauma, self-discovery and gender identity.

Hi, I’m Gal, a mum to a wonderful boy in primary school.

When I entered the motherhood journey, I was overwhelmed by a rollercoaster of mixed emotions: love, loneliness, gratefulness, confusion, excitement, guilt, happiness, exhaustion, shame and more. I wished someone (especially women) would have spoken more openly and honestly about the real and raw truth surrounding motherhood. This sparked something within me which led me to pursue counselling studies.

My multicultural background helps me accept and understand different perspectives which enables me to meet people where they are. I view people as a whole- mind, body and spirit- everything is connected. Hence, my therapeutic approach is person-centred with the aim to strengthen and empower women to help them discover and access their own inner wisdom.

My therapeutic skill set and tools include: Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Schema Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Gestalt and several Holistic Therapies. Also, currently completing a Graduate Diploma of Relationship Counselling.

Every woman is unique, hence each therapy will be personally tailored.

As a woman, I know, putting yourself first and asking for help takes a lot of courage. Yes, it does take a village to raise a child, but there’s also a need to create a village which supports mums as well. I’ll be honoured to be one member of your new support village.

Hi! I’m Nada and I LOVE being a Counsellor. I work with so many amazing families – mums, dads, and kids! My youngest client is 3 years old which means that building amazing rapport means I get to pull faces at work!

I’m an out of the box thinker with tonnes of lived experience.

I’ve been working with families for the last 25 years and that certainly does not make me an expert. What it does give me are a whole range of experiences across countries, cultures, backgrounds and circumstances. I grew up in a big family so I can never get enough of the work that I do. It’s life giving.

I ran a daycare for 16 years, I have also mentored teens, worked in Child Care, mentored adults, worked in Disability and held group sessions for women who wanted to feel supported in any way that came up for them.

I am a mum as well from a young age and I have fought hard to be a daughter.

There is nothing but respect for every single mum and there is no right or wrong way to do anything. There’s a massive learning curve to life much less being a mum so if you’ve reached out for support then I commend you. Claim your space ☺

Edwina will work alongside you, taking a warm, down-to-earth approach. She creates a safe space of empathy, support and acceptance free from judgement where you will feel heard.

Understanding that each mother is unique, Edwina takes an individualized approach to therapy. The moment our little ones are born, we are on a life-changing, privileged and tumultuous journey, equally beautiful as it is challenging.

As a Mumma of two spirited girls herself, Edwina knows what it means to be a mother and the many emotions this precious role brings. She describes her daughters as her greatest teachers. Edwina works holistically to provide person-centred sessions, helping mothers develop a more positive sense of self and empowerment to show each Mumma she is truly amazing even if she doesn’t know it yet.
